I am fortunate to be published in the international magazine, “Living the Photo Artistic Life.”

Spring is here, bringing sunshine and spreading beauty and joy wherever she goes, and welcoming the return of the hummingbirds and Monarch butterflies. The flowers are my photos of my sister’s floral arrangements. “Vernal Equinox” was published in Issue No. 134 in April 2026, page 64. I wrote a Haiku as well:
“Spring comes waltzing in;
Replacing the stark landscape
With gorgeous flowers.”
~Vicki Ardoin

What better place for a grumpy leprechaun than at home with his “Pot O’ Gold?” The large sheep and goat are my photos and the rest are stock. The piece was published in Issue 133 for March 2026, page 28.

I’m so happy these Valentine-themed pieces were published in February 2026 in Issue No. 132, page 97. “Stupid Cupid” was inspired by Connie Francis’s hit song in 1958. The table was designed from vector shapes I drew in Affinity. I created “Puppy Love” last year from two adorable photos with textures and backgrounds.

I’m excited that my two latest pieces made their way into the magazine! “Winter Solstice” marks the shortest day and longest night of the year. I wrote a Haiku as well:
“As Winter settles in,
Her auroras dance and sway;
Amazing spectacle!”
“Make a Wish!” was just plain fun. Both were created with stock photos and published on page 76 in the January 2026 edition, Issue No. 131.

“Santa’s Special Visit” was made with photos of animals and birds I’ve taken on our property. The piece reminds me of Christmas cards from my youth. Published in the December edition, Issue No. 130, page 67.

“Trinkets” is a story of a princess who discovers a tiny ballerina and sneaks out every night to watch her dance. It was published on
page 49 in Issue No. 129, November 2025.

Such a wonderful surprise to see that “Greed” was published in the October 2025 Issue, No. 128, on page 74. It depicts the majority of us who try to defend ourselves from any number of individuals, organizations, etc., waiting to take advantage. The vulture images are my photos.

Such a treat to see my wildlife pictures in the latest edition! “His Majesty” centers around a beautiful peacock that roams the neighborhood where my sister and niece live. I placed it in a park with my raccoon and squirrel photos. “Desert Punk” is from a photo of a roadrunner I took several years ago. I chose a more artistic scene for the bird. Published in September 2025 in Issue No. 127, page 13.

These may look familiar because the same two images were published last month. The editors liked them so much they ran them again–an ‘encore.’ It’s fitting as my late friend’s birthday is in August. (Issue 126, August edition, page 60.)

So wonderful to see two of my pieces in this month’s magazine! “Happiness” is of a young fox on our property. “Holding Out Hope” is bittersweet for a dear friend who passed away. Both are shown on page 74 of the July edition, Issue No. 125.

How wonderful to have two of my pieces chosen for the June issue. “Who Shall I Wear? – Gemini Twins” was created by mirroring both sides of the face in the center to form two, different personalities. “Let Us Prey” is a political piece inspired by disturbing current events. Published on page 77, Issue No. 124. This issue is dedicated to Cindy Harris, a talented fellow artist we recently lost.

What a surprise to see two of my pieces this month! “My Nosy Neighbors” features my photos blended with artistic backgrounds. “Garden Stroll” was made using stock photos and various textures. Both were published in the May 2025 edition, Issue No. 123, page 99.

I was absolutely stunned that my art piece, “Moondrops,” was chosen for this month’s magazine, and that it spanned two pages! This work evolved from a completely different idea, a happy accident! Published in the April 2025 edition, Issue No. 122, pp. 62-63.

“Life Journey” was inspired by a photograph I took of an orchid beginning to bloom and its life cycle. The title came from two Japanese words, “Life” and “Journey,” which are the symbols in the image. It was published in March 2025, Issue No. 121, page 57.

“Cried a River” was published in the February 2025 edition, Issue
No. 120, page 54, which celebrates 10 years of the magazine! It’s really exciting to be included in this milestone issue.

“Fond Memories” was published in the January 2025 edition, Issue No. 119, page 28. It depicts deep emotions reconnecting with the past. The background image is my journal, which appears in the banner on the home page.

How wonderful for two of my pieces, “Moonglow” and “A Woodland Christmas,” to be published in December 2024, Issue 118!

“Grand Entrance” heralds the coming of Autumn. This piece was published in the November 2024 edition, Issue No. 117, page 85. The photo of the fox is my own, as is the moon.

“Going My Way?” personifies the ghost stories or urban legends we told as kids on Halloween. It was published on page 54 in the October 2024 edition, Issue No. 116. So cool that, when I shared it, someone commented that it reminded them of a favorite song, and that person happens to be the featured artist in this issue!

So cool that, on the second anniversary of my site going live, two of my pieces were selected for the magazine (September 2024 Issue
No. 115, page 78 )! “Mind. If. I. Smoke?” – hearing the phrase struck me funny one day and the piece evolved into an alien being trying to fit in. “Sparks!” illustrates sensations felt when one’s favorite music starts to play.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that “Running Out of Time” was selected as a two-page spread, background image for a promotion for the featured artists! Published in August 2024, Issue No. 114.

Such a delight that “Beauty Sleep” was published on page 55 of Issue 113 for July 2024. I wanted to create a peaceful, serene environment to escape the world, if for only a moment.

It was so cool to see two of my pieces on page 48 of the magazine (June 2024, Issue No. 112)!
“How Do I Look?”- I’ve never been so immersed in creating an image. I was feeling all the emotions the lady fox would be going through while preparing for her date, and for the male as he approached her den. Their expressions were perfect.
The same can’t be said for the “Blue Heron.” It just looks so stately and tranquil in its new surroundings.

I was more than thrilled to see “In Your Wildest Dreams” published in the May 2024 edition, page 84 of the 111th issue! This one took over a month to compile all of the individual objects into the magical scene I envisioned.

“Emerald Forest” was published on page 65, Issue No. 110, of the April 2024 edition. In this fanciful piece I used 8 different photographs to produce just the flora for the background.

“Something Blue” came from the traditional rhyme: ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’ for a (superstitious) bride to include the items in her wedding. This piece, however, depicts how the issues of climate change have been ‘handed down’ to future generations. The fate of the polar bear is in their hands now. Thrilled for it to be published in the 109th Issue, March 2024 edition, page 16.

When I completed this composition, I had not yet titled it. Many ideas came to mind and then “Love in Bloom” just seemed to fit. It was right in front of me the whole time. Was published in Issue No. 108, page 73 of the February 2024 edition.

“A Perfect Afternoon” – inspired by a beautiful background image and published on page 55 in Issue No. 107 for January 2024. The deer and turtle photos are my own.

The year closed out with “The Horse Knows the Way” in the December 2023 issue No. 106, page 69. I had an old-fashioned greeting card in mind when I created it. Composited with my deer photos.

“Dressed for Fall”
Woodland young emerge,
Showing off their new fur coats;
Winter’s almost here.
This Autumn piece appeared in the November 2023 edition, page 59 of Issue No. 105. It is a composite of photographs of some of the wildlife that visits us daily.

“Out On a Limb” features a squirrel that was in our yard. “Rain Lilies” was created during a brutal summer that had us running from a brush fire. The Haiku and art became a plea for rain, with the flowers emerging from the inferno. Both pieces were published on page 73 in the September 2023 edition of Issue No. 103, and on the first anniversary of my Web site going live!

“For Me!” was published in the 101st issue of the July 2023 edition, page 89. These were birthday flowers that I wanted to showcase.

The May 2023 Edition of the magazine included “For Old Times’ Sake” in the printing. This is in Issue No. 99 on page 93. The original photo showed the musician playing piano on an empty lot.

“Starlet” appeared in the 98th Issue of the April 2023 edition of the magazine on page 5. This piece was also chosen for the KAIZEN group page cover photo.

“Starlet” shown above alongside the inspiring “Letter from the Editor.”

“Perfect Storm” was created as a double-exposure. “City of Angels” was inspired by the lyrics of a song of the same name by the Distillers. Both were published in the March 2023 edition, Issue No. 97, page 28.

“With All My Heart” appeared on page 6 of Issue No. 96, February 2023 edition of the magazine dedicated mostly to Valentine’s Day. Another really nice surprise.

A double-thrill for the first edition of the new year. “In Harmony with Nature” and “Timeless” were published in the January 2023 edition, Issue No. 95, page 99. It is a special issue dedicated to the memory of Sybille “Billa” Bozem, a beloved member of our artist community.

“O’ Christmas Tree!” was the year-end piece published in the December 2022 edition, Issue No. 94, page 63. What a whirlwind year it was!

“Autumn Unveiling” was published in the November 2022 edition, Issue No. 93, page 73. As a first, the Haiku that the piece inspired was also included!

“Teenage Zombie Nightmare” is in the October 2022 Halloween edition, Issue No. 92, page 60.
It started life as a typical, spooky Halloween scene. The more I added, though, the more it reminded me of a funny zombie movie, so I ran with it. Realizing that zombies don’t speak, I devised a way they might communicate. Every teen’s nightmare!

“Flower Bed” was published in the September 2022 edition, Issue
No. 91, page 5, adjacent to this wonderful “Letter From The Editor.”

The release coincided with the launch of this site, so it was even more special to be able to add another entry for the event. As an aside, the image displayed my new Web address!

“Imagining” was published in the August 2022 edition, Issue No. 90,
page 84.
I created this piece as part of the cover image for my Web site, showing how ideas jotted down in my journal come to life on canvas.

“Bird on Vase with Flowers” was published in the July 2022 edition, Issue No. 89, page 81.
This image is far from how I visualized it, and I wrote a Haiku when I finished; illustrating that, no matter how much in control you think are, the piece sometimes takes on a mind of its own:
“The stage is all set–
Vase in place, flowers arranged;
Then this bird flies in….”
